        Sobun (Morikawa, 1847-1902) 森川曽文 Illustrations of Japanese Industries, 12 scenes in a concertina album, signed, painted on silk, some staining, wormtrailing to boards, occasionally affecting image, 285 x 420 mm, silk-covered outer boards with paper label, lower board & three scenes detached, oblong folio, late 19th century. *** Scenes include: silkworm feeding; fan shop; crockery shop; pottery manufacture; construction; fish auction; tea harvesting; rice planting. Morikawa was represented in the Paris exhibitions and was awarded a bronze medal at the Exposition Universelle in 1900.
