      Est: €250 - €300

RAMON DE SOTO (Valencia, 1942-2014); JOSE MOREA (Chiva, Valencia, 1951). Untitled. Two engravings, one by each artist, copy 17/50 both. Signed and justified by hand. Size: 69 x 49 cm (footprint, Morea); 29,5 x 19,5 cm (footprint, Soto). José Morea has participated in all the currents, passing through pop, abstraction and symbolism, until he reached a mature language characterised by a gestural painting of characteristic and brilliant chromatisms. He began to stand out in the seventies, and in the early eighties he obtained grants from the Ministry of Culture (1980 and 1984) and the Valencia City Council (1981). He made his solo debut in 1975, with an exhibition held at the Official College of Architects of Valencia and Murcia. During the following years he continued to hold individual exhibitions in prominent galleries throughout Spain, such as the Juana de Aizpuru in Seville, the René Métras in Barcelona and the Sen in Madrid. In 1986 he made the international leap and showed his work in Italy, and since then he has been present in this country as well as in Hong Kong, Portugal and South America, and has also taken part in group exhibitions all over the world. José Morea is currently represented at the Museo de Bellas Artes and the IVAM in Valencia, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, the Museo Español de Arte Contemporáneo in Madrid, the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo in Barcelona, the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo in Recife (Brazil) and the Museo Salvador Allende in Santiago de Chile, the Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno in Las Palmas, the Pinacoteca do Estado in São Paulo, collections such as AENA, Casa de Velázquez and Argentaria, and foundations such as Telefónica, Coca-Cola and La Caixa de Pensions, among other public and private institutions. Ramón de Soto. Trained at the San Carlos School of Fine Arts in Valencia, where he acquired knowledge of contemporary art thanks to Professor Alfonso Roiog, he completed his studies at the San Fernando School in Madrid. He formed part of the group "Integración de las Artes" together with Ignacio Gómez de Liaño and Juan José Gómez Molina. In 1968, he joined the "Antes del Arte" movement, in which he was associated with Esuebio Sempere, Jose María Yturralde, Soeldad Sevilla, Jordi Teixidor, Elena Asins, Francisco Sobrino and Joaquín Michavila, among others. It was at this time that he put into practice his acquired knowledge of Gestalt psychology in relation to the perception of form and the play of light and shadow. His work can be found in the Museo de Bellas Artes de Valencia, the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Villafamés and the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Ibiza, as well as in various private collections.

JOSÉ MOREA (Chiva, Valencia, 1951). "Under the moon". Silkscreen, P.A. copy. Signed and justified by hand. Measurements: 45 x 61 cm. José Morea was a painter linked to the New Figuration which, coinciding with the democratic transition in the Spanish state, exploded as a counterpoint to the previous conceptual postulates and which in Italy and Germany was consolidated with the respective names of Transavanguardia and Neoexpressionism.
