SARAH MOON (*1941) | Sasha Robertson for ‘marie claire’, Paris 1987 Image Size: 23,5 x 15,5 cm English: Vintage silver print, printed on double-weight brown-toned, matte paper, in perfect condition. LITERATURE Robert L. Kirschenbaum / Passific Press Service (ed.), Sarah Moon, Cat. Exhib., Tokyo 1989, pl. 16; Sarah Moon, 12345, Paris 2008, p. 58. French photographer and filmmaker Sarah Moon, herself a former photo model, photographed large advertising campaigns for Cacharel, Chanel and Dior, created photo series for Vogue, Haper’s Bazaar and Elle and in 1972 was the first woman to design a Pirelli calendar. In the later 1980s Moon often worked with the British model Sasha, who seemed to her being “out of time” and of such perfection in appearance that every fashion shoot with her went like a portrait session, where no poses needed to be corrected. The print originates from the typical usage contexts of advertising photography: it most likely served as a master copy for printing purposes and was neither produced in an edition nor signed, but it can be assumed that the number of copies is very limited, since fashion collections had only a short-term relevance for contemporary circulation in the rapid change of seasons. Deutsch: Vintage-Silbergelatineabzug, geprintet auf "double-weight" braun getöntem, mattem Papier, in perfektem Zustand. LITERATUR Robert L. Kirschenbaum / Passific Press Service (Hg.), Sarah Moon, Cat. Exhib., Tokyo 1989, Abb. 16; Sarah Moon, 12345, Paris 2008, S. 58.
