        L'Opinion du Modèle is an original artwork realized by Louis Monziès in 1876. Original etching on paper. Signed on plate on the lower right corner. Titled on the lower margin. The name of the artist is also present on the lower left corner. Printed by Cadart in 1876. Passepartout included. Good conditions except for some light foxings on the margin. Very fresh impression representing a model sitting on a chair in a natural landscape. The figure is characterized by contrasts and chiaroscuro. The artwork was realized by Louis Monziès (1849 – 1930), a French painter and etcher. He has been the curator of the three Museums of Le Mans for 10 years until his death. Louis Monziès began learning painting and etching in Paris in 1871 from the painters Jean-Louis Ernest Meissonier and Isidore Pils, and from the etcher Léon Gaucherel. 52 x 36.5 (foglio), 32 x 23,5 (image), 70 x 51 (passpartou+G105t)

Etching depicting seven male scholars in Diderot's library intently listening to document being read. Framed 14.75" x 16.5". Unframed 11.25" x 13.125". Note: Denis Diderot was was a French philosopher, art critic and writer. In history, he is a rather prominent figure during the Enlightenment and is best known for serving as co-founder, chief editor and contributor to the Encyclopédie.
