    LeRoy Neiman (American, 1921-2012). A special edition Artist's Proof serigraph. Titled, "Moby Dick Or, The Whale." Produced 1974 as an illustration frontispiece for an edition of the eponymous book by Herman Melville (with preface by Jacques Cousteau), published 1975 by The Artist's Limited Edition (Mount Vernon, New York). A modern Pop Art Expressionist work depicting a brilliantly colored ocean, with whaling ship, and the iconic white whale. Having artist signature, with an original doodle depicting a seagull bird to lower right, with AP notation to lower left. Presented in a gilt wood frame. Accompanied by original limited edition gilt embossed leather-bound book featuring original presentation cardboard dust cover. Book measures approximately 14" x 11" x 3.5". Dimensions: 21.5 X 19 X 1.5 in. Condition: Good overall condition with mild surface wear. Frame having mild storage wear to corners and edges. Mild age toning to pages of book.
