    • Danny Minnick "Church is a Drag" Oil, Acrylic, Oil Stick on Canvas
      Mar. 18, 2021

Danny Minnick "Church is a Drag" Oil, Acrylic, Oil Stick on Canvas

      Est: $78,000 - $125,000

Danny Minnick grew up in Seattle and now lives between New York and Los Angeles. He has been a fine artist for close to a decade. A creative polymath, he has always been inspired by the energy of the urban street. Frenetic energy fuels Danny, inspires him, andis reflected in his methodology and pace of creative expression and artistic output. While often working with traditional fine art media from the comfort of a studio, he never misses a chance to hang off a ladder in the dead of night to leave his mark on the world outside for all to enjoy. While Danny's work has appeared by invitation on Miami's Wynwood Walls and around Banksy's Walled Off Hotel in the West Bank, his family of figures can be seen in many spaces where wall space is crying out for a free art upgrade. Cited influences include: the skateboard graphics of Raymond Pettibon, Al Diaz (the still living half of SAMO and occasional collaborator with Danny,) Lee Quinones, Barnett Newman, Robert De Niro Sr, Helen Frankenhaler, Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, Pablo Picasso, Leonardo Da Vinci, Monet, Rembrandt, Lucian Freud and Alex Katz . Danny 's work is true to his life experiences. Hischaracters and the + sign often featured in his work reflect his positivity and pay homage to his successful career as a professional skateboarder and fil mmaker. As well as riding with some of the best athletes of his generation, he shot, directed and self-distributed five feature length street skate films. When injury took its toll on his skateboarding, Danny found acting. Today he is a Lifetime Member of The Actors Studio and has extensive credits both behind and in front of the camera. Danny's solo art shows include: 17 Pieces - Rico Adair Gallery, Los Angeles 2011 Paint to Connect the Dots - Gallerie Sparta, Los Angeles, 2014 Break the Walls, Boite Noire Gallery, Los Angeles 2015 Power To The Planet - De Re Gallery, Los Angeles 2017 One Love - Maddox Gallery, London 2017 Liquified Troubles - Geuer & Geuer art in Dusseldorf Germany 2018 The 5th Dimension - Maxfield LA, Los Angeles CA 2019 Kunstuerein VIM - Germany 2019 Museum BEGE Galerien- Germany 2019 Die Kolvenburg Castle - Germany 2020 Museum Sylt - Geuer and Geuer Art, Germany 2020 Art Biennale - Shangdong Museum, China 2020
