Ioana Mihail Art for Sale and Sold Prices

Ioana Mihail is an artist that for various reasons is not mentioned in the Romanian art history. Maybe due to political reasons or maybe for being too shy, as has happened to many artists all over the world. Probably at some point she emigrated to another country or maybe she changed her name, but it is certain that she left us some really remarkable works both chromatically and philosophically. Analyzing the theme and the style of work, these two works painted on the same cardboard, are made in the '60s and depict the transition from socialist realism to a magical, archaic realism. The work expresses a kind of struggle of the artists to find their style and way in front of the restrictions of the regime and to be able to go further giving free rein to their imagination.
