Original Santa Margherita Ligure Poster by Viero Migliorati 1933

      Est: $6,000 - $7,000

1930s elegance is on full display in this rare Italian travel poster by Viero Migliorati. A group of friends lounge on a ledge overlooking the Ligurian sea, all with their backs to us except a beautiful brunette who stares at us with her hands on her hips. The coastline spills out below; the ocean carves the coast while a sailboat cruises idly by. Santa Margherita Ligure is a small town about 20 miles south of Genoa. As the name and poster image both imply, the town lies along Italy's Ligurian Coast. The area is known for its seaside sports, such as tennis and golf as seen in this image. Viero Migliorati (1910-1943) was an Italian painter who created several posters in his career. This is by far the most well known of his poster designs, and it is extremely desirable. This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is linen backed and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all our posters.

      Santa Margherita Ligure. 1934.

      Est: $4,000 - $5,000

ARTIST: VIERO MIGLIORATI SIZE: 24 1/2 x 39 1/4 in./62.2 x 99.7 cm PRINTER: Barabino & Graeve, Genova DESCRIPTION: Santa Margherita Ligure, one of Italy's most elegant seaside towns, is located in the very heart of the Italian Riviera—just fifteen miles from Genoa and adjacent to the splendid bay of Portofino. An oasis of natural beauty, sun, and sea, it boasts a long-standing tradition of hospitality and an origin that dates back to the 12th century. Migliorati presents the sultry locale in the company of a fivesome taking a break from the action in a cozy little nook overlooking the harbor as the town stretches itself out languorously along the strand.
