Etching has some discoloration and in vintage frame measuring approx. 31" W x 16" H OD. Collection also includes color engraving of "The Naval Battle of Gangut on July 27, 1714" after French engraver Maurice Baquoy. Engraving has discoloration, creases and tears, and is mounted on paper board.

Charles Frederick William Mielatz, born in Bredden, Germany on May 24, 1864 was a pupil of the Chicago School of Design and Frederic Rondel in New York. He was a member of the New York Etching Club (Secretary); American National Academy 1906; American Watercolor Society, receiving awards; He served on the jury of the St. Louis Exposition 1904.
