Gongbi technique used to capture a still life display of floral blooms contained by interweaved vines forming elaborate baskets, by Miao Jia-Hui (1842-1918). A combination of Peony and iris blooms flaunt their feminine beauty being that their soul purpose is to attract attention. Wicker vine is woven into eternal knot patterns whose origins are derived from the Tibetan Buddhism. This endless knot pattern symbolizes a spiritual pathway, flowing of time, and the eternal. A single column of cursive script characters can be found on the left-hand border followed by two red seals.
