This delicately executed and perspectivally enticing copperplate print by Ferdinand de Meys shows the ‘Allégorie de l’avènement du Tsar Alexandre ler’, the apotheosis of Tsar Alexander I (1777-1825), who took the Russian throne after his father was murdered in 1801. The copperplate engraving displays signs of age-related wear and use, but neither affecs the aesthetic quality of piece detrimentally. There are tears along the corners and edges. It measures 70 x 50 cm. Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
