Jane Meyler Sold at Auction Prices

Jane’s childhood summers were spent in Rosslare, where she now resides in the family cottage with her studio, situated on the Cliff Road, overlooking Rosslare Bay.

A self taught landscape artist working primarily in oil and pastel. She has a love of drawing in graphite or anything that will leave a mark. Drawing from life being the substance of her learning to paint.

Growing up in a home full of instruments and love of music, Jane practices her music, playing tunes on her mandolin or piano before she ever puts paint to brush, encouraging the flow of energy and imparting rhythm and soul into her canvas. Her inspiration derives from the changing high skies and sea; her work replicating that life, light and energy, yet to stand in front of Jane’s work conveys a sense of peace and serenity.

A passion for painting out in the landscape often traveling the length of the country, from the Antrim coast to the sunny South East, capturing the essence and mood of her surroundings wherever she finds herself.

Jane’s devotion to painting en plein air has led her to committing to a position on Europe’s largest plein air festival, Art in the Open and recently, the Pastel Society of Ireland.

She was awarded bronze and people’s choice awards for her pastel paintings at Art in the Open, ’12 and ’14.

Jane exhibits at Art Source, RDS and Love Your Home, Titanic Expo Centre, Belfast and at The Denis Collins Gallery, Wexford and Gallery Art Nou Millenni in Barcelona


"...even before I open my eyes in the morning and after I fall asleep at night, I can hear the ever changing rush, the ebb and flow of the tides. The full moon with it's path of flickering light, stretching towards the strand. The breaking dawn when the sun peeps over the horizon and it's light floods through my front window. Often the best part of the day vanishes before I have time to open the front door but there, to greet me always, nature's inspiration....everyday the same scene yet always in a different light.
