      Enno Meyer (American/Ohio, 1874-1947) Champion; Toppo V. Sigalsburg, 1937 Doberman Pinscher Portrait oil on canvas in carved and gilt frame. Meyer was a nationally renowned painter, sculptor, dog breeder and dog show judge, most noted for animal thoroughbred portraiture and photography. Meyer attended the Cincinnati Art Academy and was a member of the Cincinnati Art Club. He took the photographs included in a pamphlet distributed by the Cincinnati Zoo, Studies in Zoology: A Book Devoted to Animals and Animal Life at the Cincinnati Zoological Garden, published by the zoo in 1900. He was so well known and beloved of dog breeders throughout the country that his wedding announcement to 'Miss June Scanlon' was published in the September (1921) issue of Dog Fancier magazine. His photography was well-recognized and wide-ranging, including a photographic portrait of Martha, the last passenger pigeon, in 1914. 23 1/2"H x 29 1/2"W (image), 28 1/2"H x 35"W (frame)
