            Here is an antique 1882 brown flower vase from Rookwood Pottery by known artist Mary Louise McLaughlin (active 1881-1883). Hand Painted with yellow flowers in a band around the rim, and additionally etched throughout with soft petaled flowers all around. Makers marks underneath, including: date 1882, artist's signature "L. McL", Cincinnati, and "7E". Piece measures 8 1/2" tall, 6" across. *note - no chips/cracks/repairs, very good condition

            Mary Louise McLaughlin (American, 1847-1939) Portrait of a Young Woman watercolor on paper signed and dated 1890, u.l. 17.25" x 11.5" Mary Louise McLaughlin had a distinguished artistic career and worked in a variety of media. She received her formal art training at the McMicken School of Design in drawing, painting, sculpture, metalwork, woodcarving and china painting. She later studied under Frank Duveneck. McLaughlin experimented with porcelain firings and is recognized for her production of American Faience and Losanti. Not laid down.
