Estate lot of two vibrant color silk screens on paper by American artist Michael McKenzie (born 1953), titled Culture Soup and Pop Style Soup, both created in 1992. Michael McKenzie- Streisand / Singer

    Est: $500 - $1,200

Streisand ~ Singer Edition: 3/25 The beginning of American Image was at the 1964 World’s Fair when founder Michael McKenzie met Robert Indiana, Andy Warhol and Philip Johnson. Later, McKenzie did portraits of Warhol, who introduced him to Silk Screening. American Image then launched editions for Cutrone, Rivers, Katz, D’Arcangelo and Indiana. In 1994, we created travelling exhibitions for MoMA San Paulo and Rio with works we published by Warhol, Indiana, Sultan, Katz, Oldenburg, Wesselmann and Stella, all of whom we published. Our Indiana LOVE portfolio skyrocketed from a valuation of $2,500 to $200,000 and in 2008, we created Hope in tandem with the Barack Obama campaign, another landmark. We are known for Pop Art but also published Haring, Crash, Ron English, Peggy Cyphers and Nancy Dwyer while still continuing the work McKenzie started with American Image: his own. Now you can bid on iconic and historical pieces and own the legendary works for yourself.
