WILLIAM ASHBY MCCLOY (CT/MD, 1913-2001) Portrait of a Young Cadet Pilot during World War II, oil on canvas, signed lower right, in teak slat frame, OS: 30 1/2" x 24 1/2", SS: 30" x 24". Gouges to side edges, otherwise good condition. McCloy was Mural Assistant to John Steuart Curry on three murals and executed two major mural commissions himself (1939-1943). He spent 1943-1946 in the US Army where he served as a Clinical Psychologist.
