Donald McAlavy (1931 - 2016). Donald was an avid Painter, Actor, Writer, Historian, Columnist, and Family Man. Two other books he wrote and published are, Our Kind is Hard to Kill and Those Who Made the Music. After he was a pivotal member in having the Caprock Amphitheater built, in 1985 Don wrote, helped produce, and acted in the Billy the Kid outdoor Musical Drama at the Caprock Amphitheater for nearly 10 years. He accumulated piles of historical documents and photos that supported his many historical columns and writings now stock piled at the Clovis Carver library.
