The portrait of Johannes Jacobus Pömer von Diepoltsdorf, member of a patrician family of the imperial city of Nuremberg, following the tradition of his family since 1395, was a councillor of the city of Nuremberg. The interesting detail, apart from the sitter in his splendid councillor's robes, is the mirrored family coat of arms in the upper right corner, which includes the Mohrin as a crest.     Johann Ulrich Mayr (Augsburg 1629 - 1704) attribuito Giuseppe interpreta i sogni del panettiere Olio su tela 84 x 108 cm L’opera ha una versione pressoché identica pubblicata da Werner Sumowski in “Gemälde der Rembrandt-Schüler III”, nr. 1459, come autentica di Johann Ulrich Mayr, datata circa 1654. In gioventù Johann Ulrich Mayr fu allievo sia di Rembrandt che di Jordaens. Successivamente si trasferì in Inghilterra, dove iniziò a dipingere ritratti, molto richiesti dalla nobiltà locale. Poi si reca brevemente in Italia, a Roma, per poi andare in Germania. Pittore di successo, fu attivo alla corte di Baden, in Baviera, ma soprattutto presso la corte imperiale di Leopoldo, che lo nominò suo pittore di corte.
