Â§ Roger Mayne (1929-2014) Roger Mayne (1929-2014) FILM STILL FROM 'BETWEEN TWO WORLDS', 1955. Vintage silver gelatin print, image/sheet size 285 x 300mm, titled and dated by the photographer in pencil verso, with Mayne's Addison Avenue Studio and 'Photography by' stamps. One of Mayne's first photographic projects was taking the stills of the ballet film, Between Two Worlds (Sam Kaner, 1955). In the same year he moved to Addison Avenue, North Kensington and began to photograph the life and people of nearby Southam Street. -- From the National Portrait Gallery, London's 2004 archive display 'Seizing an Instant: Photographs by Roger Mayne'.
