    MATSUMOTO FUKO: A COMPLETE SET OF PICTURES BY KIKUCHI YOSAI (2) By Matsumoto Fuko (1840-1923) Japan, Meiji 24 (1891) Color woodblock print album. Ink and color on paper. Titled Kikuchi Yosai Gafu (Pictures by Kikuchi Yosai), Vol.1 and Vol. 2, copied by Matsumoto Fuko, publisher Okura Magobei. Each volume sewn and enclosed together within a fold-out album lined in silk, the covers of the volumes are also lined in silk. Dimensions: 28 x 16.8 cm Condition: Good condition with minor wear and slight browning of paper. Few ink stains and smudges. Wear to the cover and one clasp lost. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent. Museum comparison: An identical album is in the collection of the British Museum, museum number 1947,0702,0.1.1 and 1947,0702,0.1.2.
