Daniel Matshidiso Art for Sale at Auction

Daniel Matshidiso - Born in Meadowlands South Africa. Died in 1991.

He always had a great desire to draw people and scenes from around him. In Johannesburg he got in touch with respected artists, Winston Saoli and Nathaniel Mokgosi. They gave him advice on his art and he began to improve.

1976 he took part in group exhibitions around Johannesburg where his works were sold. He later managed to hold his own exhibition in Braamfontein and there he met an overseas art agent whom asked him to supply with works to be sold overseas. He along with Ben Macala, Nathaniel Mokgosi and Godfrey Indaba supplied some of the works, the venture was a major success.

He is well known for his charcoal drawings.

His works are currently displayed at the Gerald A Lee Gallery in Norwood, Johannesburg.
