    The Christ Child stands on a manger next to Mary and touches the face of John the Baptist on. Johannes is sitting on the kneeling Elizabeth's lap. The Holy Family gathered in a stone niche. This engraving made in the 1520-1557 period after a design by Raphael was longtime attributed to Cornelis Massijs himself but now rejected.

A woman surprises her husband with his mistress. She laments that her husband lays his eggs in a different nest and leaves her unsatisfied. - Ref.     CORNELIS MASSIJS Three engravings. The Meal of Beggars, 1539. Second state (of 2) * Four Blind Men Tumbling into a Pit * Lame Beggar and Beggar Woman, circa 1540. Various sizes and conditions. Massijs (1508-circa 1556) was the son of the leading Antwerp painter Quinten Massijs. Already well- known for his graphic work, with an oeuvreconsisting of approximately 150 engraved subjects, Massijs is now considered an important figure in the transition from the fantastic landscapes of Maerten van Heemsterck, Hieronymous Bosch and their followers to the "pure landscapes" of later 16th century Netherlandish painting.
