A 19th century German gold and enamelled Imperial presentation snuff box Carl Martin Weishaupt Söhne, Hanau circa 1860, stamped 14, the flange engraved 2513, also impressed with St Petersburg gold guarantee mark circa 1870 A cartouche-shaped box, the hinged cover centred by an oval cobalt-blue enamel plaque inset with silver, depicting the imperial cipher for the Russian Emperor Alexander II, three circular old-cut paste gemstones mounted to either side set against a matted ground and each surrounded by raised polished scrolls and flowers, the cover opening to reveal the hand written provenance fitted to the inside of the lid, the exterior outer borders, stepped baluster sides and base chased with trailing foliage, scrolls and flowers, length 10.5cm, weight total 228.5gms.
