Biography

Multidisciplinary artist who develops most of her work through painting. She specifically guides us through her inner world using her alter ego, a character with big hands and feet but an almost anonymous face who projects her thoughts, experiences, obsessions and tributes, surrounded by flat colours, collages of everyday life or the textures provided by craft paper.

My work path has been developed over the years using painting as a reflective map of the being. Images whose language of thoughts makes us reach a discourse of ourselves that never ceases to be universal; Discourse directed by a humanoid character (known and named by critics as "Maroto’s puppet"), an alter ego I created in 1985 to narrate the vision I have of what surrounds every human being (individually and socially). I transfer this discourse to other artistic disciplines such as engraving, photography, installations, artist books, or written reflections in the same way. ”
