Dante Marioni Art for Sale and Sold Prices

Dante Marioni is the son of noted glassmaker Paul Marioni (b. 1941) who learned his art from Marvin Lipofsky. Dante, at the age of nine began learning his glassblowing in the shop of Jay Musler. The Marionis moved to Seattle in 1979 and there found themselves in the center of the studio glass movement. There Dante studied glass making with many different artists including Dale Chihuly, Richard Marqus and the Italian, Lino Tagliapietra, who taught at the Pilchuck Glass School. In 1985 Marioni traveled to Venice where he enlarged his experience with glass-making techniques. He opened his workshop in Seattle in 1984 and subsequently has held many successful shows and honors. His works grace the White House Collection and many others.

Dante’s works are large scale sleek vessels based on classical ceramic forms. They are often brightly colored and always elegant; seemingly useful objects whose use is now basically visual rather than utilitarian.
