Possibly the circle of Orazio Marinali, the reverse unfinished, on variegated Sienna marble socle, damages -- 161/2in. (42cm.) overall NOTES The style of the present bust, with its unflinching emphasis upon the effects of ageing, suggests that the sculptor was familiar with the work of Orazio Marinali (1643-1720), who was celebrated for his almost caricatural physiognomic studies.
