After graduating from the Visual Arts program at the University of Ottawa in 1979, she and partner David McKenzie moved to the Gatineau Hills, north of Ottawa, to establish a studio. She creates intensely decorated pieces, using wax resist, sgraffito and underglaze colours to create intricate patterns. With David McKenzie, Maureen is a partner in Galerie McKenzie Marcotte in Wakefield where their work, as well as paintings and sculpture by local artists, is available.
