      Pierre Antoine Marchais (1763 - 1859 ) after L J Dubois (19th century): Muse of painting brings Louis David's memorial plaque to the "Temple de L'immortalite", 19th century, Lithography Technique: Lithography on Paper Inscription: At the lower part signed: "Composé et dessiné par L.J. Dubois. | Lith. de Villain. | Lithographié par Marchais.". Date: 19th century Description: The picture shows a mythological scene in which a figure in antique garb holds a medal with the profile of the famous artist Louis David in his hands. Flanking her is a winged putto holding a plaque with names and dates. Both figures stand at the entrance to the "Temple of Immortality", surrounded by further relief portraits of famous personalities.
