Published by Galerie Otto Stangl, Munich 1984. 26.5 x 29.5 cm (sheet c. 40 x 52.5 cm). One of 30 numbered copies. Signed by the estate administrator Otto Stangl in the imprint, all woodcuts each with his embossed stamp and numbered. Each hand proof from the O. woodblocks created between 1911 and 1914. Loose sheets in envelopes with the repro of each sheet on the front. Complete.

"The Blue Horse I" is undoubtedly one of his most important works - like many artists of his time, Marc was drafted at the beginning of the First World War and died at the Battle of Verdun aged just 36.
