Mann is an accomplished illustrator and painter who specializes in western subjects.

Mann grew up in Bountiful, Utah, at the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains, where there was ample landscape and subject matter to capture his imagination.
At 16, Mann began finding recognition for his work through exhibitions in the Society of Illustrators in New York City. In 1974 Mann started studying illustration and painting at the Utah State University in Logan, and soon after began working as a magazine illustrator.

In 2004 Mann launched his career as an easel painter, developing his pictorial ideas of the Old West. Mann created each one of his paintings, which often include figures of Indians mounted on horseback in authentic dress, with a story line in mind.

Mann’s work is showcased in many collections throughout the U.S.
Mann continues to live in Bountiful, the town of his birth.
