Henri Malvaux , born on April 27 , 1908 at Beauzée-sur-Aire ( Meuse ), and died in Paris on July 2 , 1994 , is a painter , engraver , sculptor , mosaicist , filmmaker and French teacher .

A pupil of the National School of Decorative Arts in Paris, he began his career as a drawing teacher at the Lycée Alain Fournier in Bourges in 1932, before joining Mâcon.

Jean Bouvet deals with Spanish political refugees , he is municipal councilor of Mâcon and, in 1937, after an exchange with Jean Eckenroth (contadourien and chaplain of alpine hunters) in Pelvoux Saint-Antoine, Jean Bouvet and Henri Malvaux will meet Jean Giono holiday resort in Briançon . It is Jean Giono who will discover Provence in Malvaux in the 1950s . Conquered by Suzette , between Malaucène and Beaumes-de-Venise , he set up his workshop opposite Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles de Montmirail

Henri Malvaux is in the movement of painters of poetic reality . In Macon, his family is very close to the Bouvet family. Director of the municipal drawing school of Mâcon from 1939 to 1942, he hired Maxime Descombin to teach sculpture, he resigned in 1942. In 1943, Malvaux was appointed director of the National School of Fine Arts in Bourges will become the National School of Art Bourges . He encouraged the ceramist Jacqueline Lerat (born Bouvet) to settle in the hamlet of La Borne that same year, because it has only six students and dilapidated premises 1 . He creates a ceramic workshop with a Sèvres type wood-fired oven and an electric oven in the Bourges art school. He will introduce a photography and video workshop.

He travels to Europe, Latin America and Canada. He gives many lectures, without giving up painting.

In 1962, he took the direction of the Center of Arts and Techniques which will become the Camondo School .
