Symone Male Art for Sale and Sold Prices

Symone Male is primarily a painter with a Bachelor of Visual Arts degree with Honours specialising in realistic, female, figurative portraiture. She started oil painting in a mature manner and exhibiting in group shows at the age of 6 years. Currently she is using her own adaptation of the Old Master's technique of glazing with oils. Symone delights in capturing light and conjuring moods of both introspection and confrontation. Combining blatancy and subtlety on various levels is a key element in her work. Recently she has stripped back her oil painted works to focus purely on the subject and one or two quirky feature articles she finds intrinsically relevant to the work, floating these on a symbolic brightly coloured flat background.

Symone also paints abstract works using synthetic polymer house paint. These paintings act as a cathartic release for the artist as she literally, throws, dribbles and splatters the paint on to the surface using spoons and ladles as her tools of application. Strictly no brushes. The nature of the paint is to run, spread, crack, craze and react there by giving these floral landscapes an appearance of movement and an unruly life force.

Personally styled underwater photography, of females both clothed and nudes, is another of Symone’s passions. Sublime women sink beneath a swirl of chiffon or chase illusive cups of tea in vintage frocks. These dreamy images reveal the artist’s long term obsession with children's literature and illustration.

Symone also runs a mural business, Magic Mural's, where she creates magical fantasy scapes to enrich and enliven the imagination of children and adults alike. www.magicmurals.com.au
