In a dark Venice, out of time, besieged by water, pollution and tourists, a mysterious and disturbing character appears: Il Conte Notte. A reincarnated, a zombie, or rather, an undead who as an avenging angel returns among the living to atone for his sins and to claim revenge. A character completely anomalous for the stereotypes of use. Death, love, magic and mysticism had to be the ingredients of this work of his where the atmospheres, even chromatic ones, could act as a "spirit guide" for the reader.

Without any more problems, except the intrigues, the betrayals, the plots that were woven in the Italian courts of the sixteenth century, in the shadow of power.             pencil and ink on thin cardboard 50 x 35 cm Original illustration made by Magnus for the lower part of page 3 of "Il muro dipinto", a short story from the Le Femmine Incantate series, first published in Dolce Vita magazine no. 1 in October 1987. In the second panel, the lawn and Meng's body are photocopies, as are the upper part of the statue and the friar's bust in the third panel. A museum-worthy work that gives us the opportunity to appreciate like never before the love and effort that Magnus poured into every single panel of his Femmine. << I took inspiration from a series of short stories, Liao's Fantastic Tales, which is completely different from Le Femmine Incantate. There are some very beautiful stories of ghosts and apparitions, funny stories, stories of monks. I singled out some female figures and reworked them, while remaining faithful to the overall spirit. Often it's two or more stories combined. Plus, there's a whole personal story of mine. >> (Magnus)

            pencil and ink on thin cardboard 53,5 x 31 cm Original panel (1D) made by Magnus for the first page of the novel "La grande signora" part of the Le Femmine Incantate cycle, published for the first time in the magazine Comic Art n. 77 in March 1991. After having created 6 episodes of Le Femmine, Magnus decides to change his working method and partly also his style; the master in fact decides to create, instead of the usual and narrow cartoons inside the page, real large-format illustrations to be reduced later in printing, thus managing to create even more minute details, but at the same time totally embracing the French style of the "ligne claire" creating airy and poetic images in which the line and the white of the sheet instill in the reader a rare sense of inner peace. Folds on the right and left margins. Signed.

At just 22 years old, the young Raviola (he signed his name with his surname at that time) decided to put his already considerable talent to the test by creating his own version of Dickens' masterpiece in a grotesque/goliardic style, creating a real book. artist's work in 1:1 scale with hand-written lettering and interspersed illustrations. The work, like many of that period, remains unfinished and the one presented by us is the only known illustration not to have been included in the final corpus, the entire "Christmas Carol" will remain unpublished until its publication by Alessandro Editore in 2008. Signed and dated.
