Alessandro Lupo, Torino 1876 - 1953 (Turin 1876 - 1953) - - Alessandro Lupo was a well-known exponent of Piedmontese naturalism during the second half of the 19th century and the early years of the 20th century. His artistic training was significantly influenced by the guidance of Vittorio Cavalleri, a prominent master in the artistic milieu of the time.His official debut took place in 1901 at the Società Promotrice delle Belle Arti in Turin, presenting three studies conducted from life. This event marked the beginning of his consistent participation in major art exhibitions nationwide. However, in the early years of his career, Lupo was often criticized for what some considered to be an excessive adherence to the models taught to him by his master, Vittorio Cavalleri.Although his early works focused mainly on landscapes executed en plein air, over the years Lupo began to diversify his artistic subjects, eventually specializing as an animalist and author of market scenes beginning in the 1920s.A significant moment in Alessandro Lupo's career was in 1921, when he mounted a solo exhibition at the Galleria Vinciana in Milan. This event marked the beginning of increasing critical and exhibition attention to the artist. However, this positive phase was abruptly interrupted by Lupo's exclusion from the Venice Biennale in 1928.Despite criticism of his artistic style, the pleasantness of the subjects he depicted and his taste that seemed to lag behind nineteenth-century artistic canons ensured his continued success on the art market. His work has continued to be appreciated and sought after by collectors over the years, thus helping to preserve his artistic legacy in the Italian art scene.

Sa formation artistique a été considérablement influencée par les conseils de Vittorio Cavalleri, un maître très en vue dans la sphère artistique de l'époque. Il fait ses débuts officiels en 1901 à la Società Promotrice delle Belle Arti de Turin, en présentant trois études d'après nature. Cet événement marque le début de sa participation constante aux grandes expositions d'art dans tout le pays. Cependant, au début de sa carrière, Lupo est souvent critiqué pour ce que certains considèrent comme une adhésion excessive aux modèles que lui a enseignés son maître, Vittorio Cavalleri.
