Galvanized wire mesh, red cable ties, stainless steel base, red light source Austria, 2014 Christoph Luckeneder (b. 1950) - Austrian artist Height: 125 cm Base: 80 x 30 x 30 cm Very good condition Large scale light sculpture by Luckeneder from his body of work ‘LichtKakteen’, a homage to the ‘Giants of the Desert’, the Saguaro cactuses in southern Arizona Estimate by Auctionata Expert: 3,000 Euro This impressive sculpture is a characteristic work by Christoph Luckeneder. On a trip through the South-western United States, the artist experienced the attraction of the ‘Carnegiea gigantea‘ in the Saguaro National Park. Consequently, the idea for the first ‘LichtKakteen’ (light cacti) arose. In 2003, the concept was awarded the first prize of the jury at the International Sculpture Event in Nuremberg. Condition: The sculpture is in very good condition with only slight signs of wear. The LED light (12V / 4, 5 watts) is functional. Its overall height is approximately 205 cm.
