A figural work painted in a soft palette evoking the Romantic School, depicting a young nude female figure with bare breasts, pale skin, and pulled back hair. Hand inscribed on verso in Hungarian language, titled: "No Kepe Masolta Dienes Laszlo" ("Come on, she mumbled: relax day"). Faded backstamp to canvas on verso. Presented in gold wood frame. No apparent artist signature to front side, therefore being sold in the manner of Karl Karoly Lotz (German Hungarian 1833-1904). Work Size: 26 x 20 in. Dimensions: 31 X 26 X 2.25 in. Condition: Fair to good overall condition having craquelure to surface. Frame having storage wear to edges and corners. Estate fresh to the market. He created romantic landscapes and monumental and decorative murals and frescoes in the style of the Venetian artist Giovanni Battista Tiepolo. He also decorated some grand palaces. He was also known for his portraits and nudes. In 1882, Lotz worked as a professor at various art academies in Budapest. His paintings, drawings and designs were purchased by the Hungarian state and are on display in the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest.
