Peter Lindbergh (1944-2019) was a German fashion photographer renowned for his distinctive black-and-white portraits and his influential contributions to the fashion industry. He was widely regarded as one of the most influential fashion photographers of his time. Born in Poland and raised in Germany, Lindbergh began his photography career in the 1970s. His work stood out for its raw and unfiltered aesthetic, challenging the prevailing standards of beauty and fashion photography. Lindbergh's photographs often emphasized the natural beauty and individuality of his subjects, presenting them in a more authentic and less retouched manner. Lindbergh collaborated with numerous fashion magazines, including Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and The New Yorker, and he worked closely with top fashion designers such as Giorgio Armani and Calvin Klein. He photographed many celebrities and supermodels, including Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, and Cindy Crawford, helping to launch their careers and contributing to the rise of the "supermodel" phenomenon. One of Lindbergh's most iconic works was the January 1990 British Vogue cover, which featured five emerging supermodels, including Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, and Naomi Campbell. This cover is often credited with defining the era and capturing the spirit of the 1990s fashion scene. Lindbergh's impact extended beyond the fashion world. His work transcended mere commercial photography, and he is recognized for his artistic vision and ability to convey emotion and depth through his images. His photographs often had a cinematic quality, capturing a moment frozen in time. Peter Lindbergh received numerous accolades during his career, including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America. His work continues to be exhibited in major galleries and museums worldwide. Sadly, Lindbergh passed away in September 2019, but his artistic legacy and contributions to fashion and photography endure. Measures 9.25 x 13.5 Verso is blank. Mounted to archival quality paper.

At Denise René [and] Hans Mayer Gallery. Krefeld 1969. Zwei fotografische und zehn illustrierte Blätter. Illustrierte Originalbroschur. [Keywords: ; ]
