      Frank Lickso - "CALM" Hand-Signed Serigraph1989

      Est: $300 - $800

Large vintage Lickso hand-signed and numbered serigraph. This piece is marked A.P. from an artist proof edition! Comes unframed with a gallery COA (Certificate of Authenticity). Licsko, Hungarian/American (1946 - ) The paintings of Frank Licsko are something to behold. Cherished for their brilliance and intensity his works have been recognized by private art collectors for some three decades as unrivaled. Included among the collectors of Licsko are the late Hubert Humphrey, Vice-President of the United States, members of the Japanese Royal family, His Excellency Zediad Shawwaf, Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the National Gallery of Canada. Most recent Licsko collectors include actor Larry Hagman, Dr. Laura Schlessinger, Clint Eastwood’s luxury estate development company Tehama. Licsko made his way to the United States by way of Hungary, Austria, and Canada. Born May 1, 1946, in Budapest, his family was forced to flee to Austria when he was ten years old to escape the war between the Hungarian revolutionaries and the Soviet Union. The family eventually settled in Ontario, Canada where as a young teenager his artwork already described as masterful, helped support his family. At fourteen Licsko was entered into an International Art Competition with over 4000 entrants. He won first place and an art scholarship. Later, he briefly attended the Ontario College of Art. He moved his own young family of four to Los Angeles in the early eighties for a few years before settling into Carmel on California’s Monterey Peninsula. His work influenced most by Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Kriegoff, and Dali became recognized as powerful and important expressions of art. His recent move to a new larger studio in the Paso Robles Wine Region, along with the Central Coast of California, has served to intensify his work and further inspire the art that can only be described as a Licsko.
