Libeskind founded Studio Daniel Libeskind in 1989 with his wife, Nina, and is its principal design architect. He is known for the design and completion of the Jewish Museum in Berlin, Germany, that opened in 2001. On February 27, 2003, Libeskind received further international attention after he won the competition to be the master plan architect for the reconstruction of the World Trade Center site in Lower Manhattan.

The cardboard portfolio displays a label on the cover board as well as slight signs of use. The sheet-sized images measure each c. 64.3 x 49.8 cm and 49.8 x 64.3 cm resp. The dimensions of the portfolio are 67 x 52.5 cm. Daniel Libeskind (b. 1946) The American architect was born in Lodz, Poland and emigrated in 1957 with his parents over Israel to the United States, whose citizenship he accepted in 1965. He initially became a professional musician before studying until 1972 architecture at the Cooper Union in New York and the the School of Comparative Studies at the University of Essex. In 1989 he founded his own architectural office in Berlin, that he relocated to New York in 2003 after being ordered to rebuild the World Trade Center. Today he still lives in New York. Libeskind, who is regarded an international star architect, created among others, the Jewish Museum in Berlin, the Leuphana University in Lüneburg, the Graduate Centre of the London Metropolitan University and the Jewish Museum in San Francisco.
