      • 'THE PRINCE AND THE SHOWGIRL / IL PRINCIPE E LA BALLERINA' (1957) POSTER | Italian, Luigi Martinati (1893-1984)
        Mar. 22, 2018

'THE PRINCE AND THE SHOWGIRL / IL PRINCIPE E LA BALLERINA' (1957) POSTER | Italian, Luigi Martinati (1893-1984)

        Est: £2,400 - £3,500

This romantic comedy was directed and produced by Laurence Olivier.  He also starred in the film alongside Marilyn Monroe. Luigi Martinati's sexy image of Marilyn Monroe is by far the most beautiful poster on this title. This Italian poster was printed in two sheets and designed to be pasted on billboards throughout Italy.  Owing to the nature of these posters, they could only be used once, and only a few unused posters are known to have survived.
