      Robert Larsen (1923-2002) American, Oil on Canvas Still life painting of flowers in glass resting on an ornately carved wooden end table. This impressionist piece features daisies set in a tall vase and to its right, a wine glass which holds small pink buds on a sprig with dark green leaves. Two empty glasses also adorn the table, one in the front and one in the back, the glass has tinges of pink, blues and white. Signed, lower right Overall Size: 36 3/8 x 30 3/8 in. Sight Size: 29 7/8 x 23 3/4 in. Frame Thickness: 1 in. #5430 Robert Larsen was born in 1923 in the state of Illinois. He studied at Kansas City Institute of Art and Design and Detroit School of the Society of Arts and Crafts and attended the Ringling School of Art from 1950 to 1952. In 1951, Larsen built a house and studio on Siesta Key. His work has been exhibited throughout Florida, and one of his paintings is in the permanent collection of the High Museum in Atlanta. Larsen later taught painting and drawing at Ringling from 1966 to 1990. Location BD

BIOGRAHPY: Robert Larsen studied at the Kansas City Institute of Art and Design and Detroit School of the Society of Arts and Crafts. He attended the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida, where he became a faculty member and was the recipient of numerous regional and national awards. He was represented by several distinguished art galleries in Sarasota Florida, the Murray Lebwohl Gallery, Hodgell-Hartmen Gallery, Corbino Gallery and Blue House Gallery. His work can be seen on permanent display in Sarasota, Florida at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall where it is part of the collection of the Fine Arts Society of Sarasota and his papers reside at the The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art Library.
