The eared canted stepped rectangular grey and white-veined red marble top, above a frieze drawer and a hinged fall-front centred by a musical trophee, with a gilt-tooled brown leather-lined writing-surface to the reverse, enclosing a fitted interior with four open compartments and six mahogany-lined drawers, above a pair of doors each inlaid with scrolling flowers within an oval, enclosing a plain interior with one shelf, the sides inlaid with simulated cut-cornered panels, the top signed twice J.LAPIE and once JME, the marble restored, restorations to the veneers 136.5cm. high x 98cm. wide x 42.5cm. deep NOTES Jean Lapie, maŒtre in 1762 See illustration.
