BIOGRAPHY: Martinus Antonius Kuytenbrouwer II, the Dutch painter, lived in The Hague and Brussels. He received his first orders from King Leopold I, but in 1860, he moved to Paris where he became court painter to Napoleon III. He was a painter of landscapes, animals and hunting scenes. He is also a watercolourist and etcher. Etchings and drawings are kept at the Rijks Museum in Amsterdam and at the Museum in Philadelphia. An oil on canvas entitled "stag hunt" is kept at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Brussels.
