Andrei Porfirievitch Krylov (Russia,1929-1991) oil painting

    Est: $380 - $425

ARTIST: Andrei Porfirievitch Krylov (Russian, 1929 - 1991) NAME: Winter Landscape - Monastery YEAR: 1954 MEDIUM: oil on cardboard CONDITION: Very good. No visible inpaint under UV light. SIGHT SIZE: 9 x 13 inches / 23 x 33 cm FRAME SIZE: 12 x 16 inches / 30 x 40 cm SIGNATURE: on verso CATEGORY: antique vintage painting SKU#: 116334 US Shipping $49 + insurance. Andrei Porfirievitch Krylov (Russian, 1929 - 1991) Andrei Krylov was born on October 22, 1929 in Moscow in the family of the famous artist Porfiry Nikitich Krylov (Kukryniksy). While still a student at the Art Institute. V.N. Surikova, Andrei Krylov became an employee of the journal of political satire "Crocodile", where he worked for 34 years, moving from a "young, promising" to a deservedly recognized master of Soviet caricature. His witty satirical drawings are known to many, they are interesting and recognizable even today. However, Andrei Krylov is not only a talented cartoonist, but also a painter with his recognizable handwriting. For his life rich in various events, the artist visited many countries and from each he necessarily brought the picturesque impressions that have developed today in the solo exhibition “Traveling the World with Andrei Krylov”. The viewer will discover the expanses of his native country from the harsh Chukotka to the sunny beaches of the Black Sea region. Slowly strolling along the small streets of Uzbek cities and overcoming the winding paths of the mountains of Tajikistan, the traveler will experience the peculiar flavor of the Soviet East. Then Italy awaits the viewer: classic Rome with its luxurious villas and romantic Venice, whose cathedrals are shrouded in transparent haze filled with sunlight. The bright colors of the Venetian carnival will prepare for a meeting with the cheerful and hospitable country of Cuba. And one of the last impressions of the artist was Amsterdam. Each time, Andrei Krylov manages to not only subtly grasp and convey the distinctive look of each country in colors, but also fill it with optimism and love of life, which are unchanged for the artist’s work.
