    Two full-color travel posters titled 'Montana' and 'Mount St. Helens,' illustrations by Gustav Krollman (1888-1962), published by Brown and Bigelow. One bears the stamp of W.R. McGee Livingston Montana. Warren Russell McGee of Livingston, Montana was a 35 year veteran employee of the Northern Pacific and amassed one of the largest archives of locomotive photographs in existence using photography skills acquired during training in WWII.     GUSTAV W. KROLLMAN (1888-1962) MONTANA. Circa 1930. 40X29 1/8 inches, 101 1/2x74 cm. Brown & Bigelow, St. Paul, MN. Condition B+: Creases and abrasions in image. Krollman designed a series of poster for the Northern Pacific Railroad using images "that displayed a strong sense of modeling and a richness of color" (Zega p. 83). Here a train is passing by the resplendent Absaroka Mountains. Little is known about Krollmann except that he was of Austrian descent and that he settled in Minneapolis where he taught at the Minneapolis Institute of Art.
