  • Elina Krima, “Identity”, 2018. Contemporary Print
    Jun. 09, 2020

Elina Krima, “Identity”, 2018. Contemporary Print

    Est: €500 - €700

Elina Krima, “Identity”, 2018. Linocut on paper, 96 x 96 cm Artwork inspired by the traditional Latvian linen weave pattern. The linen itself serves as a symbol. The linen, its threads that weave a person's life and identity. During development, the threading has been changed to microchip-like pattern, which adds an additional dimension to the artwork. The artwork has, in a sense, dual nature - the image of linen can be only be percieved from distance, while the microchip-like pattern can be seen only from close-up. This is a metaphor about how small, externally invisible details form one's identity.
