He lived in New York for a few years where he was a member of Associated American Artists. He sold his works through department stores and mail order. He later settled in Los Angeles and became active in the local art scene. He painted in a naïve or primitive style á la Grandma Moses to produce scenes of Americana, and signed his works with only his last name. He died in Los Angeles on November 4, 1991.
