KooL KooR is an Afro-American, originally from the Bronx NY and is a "rock" in the Graffiti Art world where he's recognized as a monument first generation graffiti artist since the late '70ies. His works easily top 75.000 € and are in the collections of most world top modern art musea. His creations are seen as the basis of the recyclart movement as most of his work was on recylced objects: doors, boards, etc.
KooL KooR turned his capacity to make something out of a hopeless situation / of nothing into Leadership Development Workshops and it now working with top organisations s.a. the British Council, Akzo Nobel, e.a..
When growing up in the Bronx, they had nothing as early teenagers in their 10 to 13 years. Talent is however present quite equally spread among all layers of society. Some of these disadvantaged youngsters made it to big celebrities and KooL KooR certainly is one of them. You may picture a little group of 10 to 15 year olds living in a same neighborhood in the Bronx-New York. Nobody cares about them too much. No great places to play. No equipment/play grounds with tools. Degrading or abandoned buildings. The group of kids slender through the streets and when it's raining shelter in some of the abandoned buildings. They make a fire to get some warmth. Some kids start writing with partially burned wooden sticks. Graffiti is born.
