Als freischaffende Künstlerin, die ab 1913 im Wiener Künstlerhaus ausstellte, widmete sie sich vornehmlich Stillleben und Landschaften, wofür sie mit großer Vorliebe in der Wachau malte. Oil on canvas Liesl Kinzel (1886-1961) Austrian landscape, genre and flower painter, her real name was Elisabeth Hermine Kinzel (further nickname Elise); member of the Wachauer Künstlerbund Signed and inscribed Liesl Kinzel Wien at the lower left Dimensions: 59.5 x 65 cm Frame: 73 x 78 cm Provenance: private property Austria Condition: The painting is in good condition, consistent with age. The surface displays craquelure in places. Under UV-light smaller touch ups occasionally appear. The four corners of the canvas with some wear. In places along the edges slight abrasion due to framing. The frame in parts with minor surface abrasion and one small blemish. Elisabeth Hermine Kinzel (1886-1961) Liesl (Elisabeth Hermine) Kinzel was born in Vienna. Studied as pupil of Berthold Löffler and Kolo Moser at the Vienna Arts and Crafts School as well as with Robert Ruß and Adalbert Franz Seligmann at the Wiener Frauenakademie. Apart from landscape, Kinzel also painted images featuring genre and flowers, and since 1913 she was regularly represented at exhibitions at the Vienna Künstlerhaus.
