    Oil on cardboard Austria, late 19th century Marie Kartsch (1848-?) - Austrian flower painter Signed bottom right ‘Marie Kartsch’ Dimensions: 24.3 x 19 cm Framed: 28.5 x 23 cm Good condition Condition: The painting is in good age-appropriate condition. The varnish is minimally discolored, otherwise good overall impression. Not examined under UV light. The image dimensions are 24.3 x 19 cm, the frame dimensions 28.5 x 23 cm. Marie Kartsch (1848-?) The artist was born in 1848 in Salzburg. She studied with her uncle, the Austrian portrait and history painter Friedrich Schilcher in Vienna. A scholarship allowed her to travel to Berlin, where she worked for the Danish painter Theude Grönland. After the death of her husband she moved to Kindberg in Styria, from where she regularly participated at exhibitions in Vienna, Graz and Salzburg. Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
